Regular registration

The registration fee for regular participants is 270€ (plus 100€ per each accompanying persons). It includes the abstract book, the printed volume of the conference proceedings, the welcome-reception, 9 coffee-breaks, the closing dinner, and the half-day excursion. For accompanying persons, the fee includes the welcome reception, the closing dinner and the half-day excursion.

The deadline for regular registration is August 15, 2011.

Students

The registration fee for students is 80€. It includes the abstract book, the conference proceedings in CD format and 9 coffee-breaks. The deadline for student registration is September 1st, 2011. Don't forget to send a copy of a valid student ID card with the fax of the payment receipt.

How to pay?

Information concerning money transfer: Please mention your name (or names in the case of accompanying persons) and the code for SEAC participation (SEAC 2011 - ÉVORA) on the payment slip. Please keep in mind that the originator of the transfer bears all additional costs. We will will not cover any additional fees. You will find all necessary information listed in the table below.

Please send us a copy of your payment receipt via fax to +351 214 309 299. If applicable send a copy of valid student ID card. Please state in the fax the reference APIA, C/o SEAC 2011. We will confirm the reception of the fax copy and your payment as quickly as possible (usually within a week).

Cancellation policy

If you cancel your registration till July 31, 2011, the fee can be refunded completely (minus 10€ for money transfer and administration costs). Cancellation till September 1, 2011: 125€ can be refunded (accompanying person: 50€).

Cancellation after September 1, 2011: There is no refunding of fees possible.

Deadlines for payments

Deadline for paying the regular registration fee: August 15th, 2011.
Deadline for paying the student registration fee: September 1st, 2011.

If the payment has not been effective before these dates, participation in the programme, book of abstracts and proceedings is not possible.

Accommodation

You will find on this website a number of recommended hotels.

Two-days excursion to Seia

The two-days excursion, on Saturday/Sunday, September 24/25, is not included in the regular registration fee. The full programme and the costs of the excursion can be found here: Detailed programme [pdf]

Half-day excursion to Herdade das Murteiras

The half-day excursion to Herdade das Murteiras is available for those who have to leave earlier and cannot participate in the two-day excursion. Inside Herdade das Murteiras you can visit a Neolithic settlement, proto-Megalithic and Megalithic tombs and a Megalithic quarry. Departure will be Saturday 24/9 at 9:00 with return at 13:00. Grants and accommodation aids

There are a few grants. Additionally we are trying to arrange some possibilities of free accommodation. These aids will be preferably assigned to young postdocs and PhD students.

2) Grants offered by the LOC: Make an application (see requirements below) till March, 15th to the chairpersons of the LOC:

Eligibility: the applicant either must be a postgraduate student working on a Masters or PhD degree with a subject on some aspect of astronomy in culture or must have completed such a degree no earlier than 2008. The grant may be shared by two or more authors of the same paper.

Application requirements:
1) An extended abstract with bibliography of the paper to be presented (i.e. 1500 words not including the bibliography).
2) A curriculum vitae.
3) A reference from the applicant’s advisor.

You will be informed till May 1st, 2011 whether your application has been accepted.
